The honest route in is sideways. Support, administration, and design carry roughly 32,000 projected openings a year between them, and people move across those rungs regularly, which is a faster path than waiting for a design seat to open. Carriers have posted more of this work on our board than contractors have, and Colorado, Virginia, and Maryland carry far more network architecture work per head than their population would suggest. As of today that means 41 live network engineering & design jobs here. The largest share comes from Uniti, MasTec Communications Group, and Ziply Fiber, and Altamonte Springs, FL; Beaverton, OR; and Everett, WA have the most of them. Where pay is stated it runs $87k to $120k a year.
