Amentum in its present shape is not yet two years old. It was formed on September 27, 2024, when the legacy Amentum business merged with a spin-off of Jacobs' Critical Mission Solutions unit, joining two government services companies whose engineering work goes back a century and more between them. Its fiscal 2025 annual report counts a workforce of roughly 50,000 across more than 70 countries, reported in two segments: Digital Solutions, covering intelligence analytics, space systems, cybersecurity, and next-generation IT, and Global Engineering Solutions, covering environmental remediation, nuclear power, platform engineering, sustainment, and supply chain management on seven continents.
Next-generation IT, cybersecurity, and space system development belong to the Digital Solutions segment, work that runs on networks and communications infrastructure built for federal and commercial customers.
